Lillian Eunice (Phelps) Wilson Scrapbook Pages 91 through 103

Carey & Perry Hoover above share a common Grandfather, Andrew Huber/Hoover with President Herbert Hoover. Perry Hoover on the right is my direct ancestor.
This is the end of Lillian's personal scrapbook from Indianapolis Indiana. Future posts will concentrate on her life when she, her husband and her son (My father) Carey Jr. (Al Jr.) moved to Springfield Illinois, Grand Rapids Michigan and then Lakewood Ohio.

Lillian Eunice (Phelps) Wilson Scrapbook Page 17

Top left photo is Ralph Phelps and 3 unknowns. Top right is Kate Bender, Perry Hoover, 3 unknowns and what might be Harry Phelps on the right in the cowboy hat. The woman with the horse on the bottom left is unknown. Te bottom right photo is from 1901 and is starting from the far right, Lilly Hoover, Kate Bender, Amy Phelps, Harry Phelps, Perry Hoover and I think it is Cary Hoover and maybe his wife or another woman. I have conflicting information on two copies of this photo. The other photos have no dates

The photo on the left is Perry Hoover and possibly Kate Bender, though from this photo I am not sure. Perry Hoover in the left photo wearing the black bow tie and with Ulysses Grant Hoover on the left. He is the brother of Amy Rose Hoover, Lillian's mother.

Lillian Eunice (Phelps) Wilson Scrapbook Page 7

The top row left picture appears to be Lillian's Aunt Lilly on the left with an unknown woman. The photo on the bottom left is Aunt Lilly with Kate Bender, Lillian's grandmother. The man in the middle picture is Kate Bender's husband Perry Hoover.

Lillian Eunice (Phelps) Wilson Scrapbook Page 1

Following is the first page (Of a total of 103) from a scrapbook Lillian kept during the early 1900's. It is comprised of photos of family and friends. Most of the pictures were probably taken in and around the Indianapolis Indian area where her family lived. Unfortunately most of the people in these pictures are unknown to me. On this particular page, second picture on the top row is Lillian's Aunt Lilly. Lilly was the sister of Amy Rose Phelps. In the top right there is a small picture of Lillian's grandfather Perry Hoover. Right below Perry's picture is a photo of his twin, Cary. On the bottom right hand side is a picture of Lillian with another young girl.

Perry Hoover Obituaries

Here is another page from Lillian's scrapbook with newspaper obits dated February 1, 1911, for her grandfather Perry Hoover. Also on this page are obits for his brother Cary Hoover and his wife Massie Hoover, as well as the Hoover twins sister, Jane Charles. The spelling of his name is different (Carey) from the birthday page article. There are also articles about another family member and possible friends or relatives.

Below is a picture of Perry Hoover and his wife Kate Bender. I'm not sure of the date for this picture. My guess is the 1890's.

Perry & Cary Hoover 75th Birthday Celebration

Here is a newspaper clipping dated, September 15, 1907, from an Indianapolis Indiana newspaper concerning a family birthday celebration for Lillian's grandfather Perry Hoover and his twin Cary Hoover. Five year old Lillian is in the front row. Other markings point to Lillian's brother Ralph Phelps, her aunt Lilly Hoover, sister of Amy Hoover Phelps who was Lillian's mother. I included two additional pages from the scrapbook.
